The price almost seems too good to be true (compared to mag-hytec or ats), but I like how you can get them custom made to have drain and fill plugs, plus I just like chrome. Is there any disadvantage to me getting one of these? Anything special about the factory Ford cover that this might not have? Thanks in advance
EDIT: I'm an idiot, thought I was in the Super Duty section of the forum. If this is off topic mods can feel free to move it
I don't know if you're aware that you can get the finned cast aluminum factory cover from the 08+ trucks that fits perfectly also. It's a very reasonable price and looks pretty sharp IMHO.
I've been thinking about sticking a cover on mine that has a bung for a temp sensor. Anyone know what "NORMAL" temp is for the rear grease?
Since I installed the Scan Gauge, I have a tranny gauge that is duplicated that I wanna use for the rear end. I tow a 5'er and wanna keep an eye out for that temp.
I'm not crazy about the "bling" factor of having it chromed, but to each his own. That looks like a chromed oem cover, the aluminum finned covers offer better cooling and some increase the capacity. Just get the '08+ finned aluminum oem cover for around $55 and call it good.
