Carbon???

So I went about pulling my valve covers today and looking under them it looks pretty clean. Except one of the rods has a bunch of carbon built up. Is this a problem? how should I clean it out.

The truck is running really good but because it is just around that one it makes me wonder.

Any advice about stuff to look for and what to do under the covers would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

You can use some seafoam. It will eat right through the carbon. Good luck! I have a exhaust valve problem at the moment

carbon

The buildup that you see is caused by the heat riser passage that goes under the intake manifold and is baked on oil, as said before just remove them , clean and blow them out with compressed air. The buildup is not unusual on high milage engines. Kenny Nunez
