sounds good
it would open your valves more
but it won't allow your valves to close * *boom* *
if a cam isn't possible or you don't want to go that far
your best bet to open your valves more is to run a bigger ratio
rocker and if you can find them its a easy swap
beware this alone will not show huge improvement cam is better
just a note only change your rods for quialty/damage/age or if
the distance b'tween the cam>rocker has changed
if your gasket thickness has changed alot like using a .030 or.060
copper gasket
or the head or block have been cut or changed
You check thelength of your pushrods by pressing down on the pushrod end of the rocker arm until the hydraulic lifter collapses completely. At that point the rocker arm to valve stem gap should be .100-.200" with .125-.175" the preferred value. The rocker arms have a ratio of 1.61:1 so a .060" longer or shorter pushrod will change the gap by .097". You may need to order special rods, available thru Summit, Jeg's, etc.
