Here's my problem which I'm sure someone else has had before. . . I have a
4wd block that I'm trying to put in my 2wd. I was going to use the 4wd oil pan because that is where the dipstick is located, and the 2wd location for the dipstick (in the block) is blocked off. However, the 4wd pan won't allow me to bolt up my exhaust. So I'm back to using the 2wd oil pan (with no spot for the dipstick). So my question is, HOW DO I USE MY DIPSTICK WHEN USING A 4WD BLOCK AND A 2WD OIL PAN?
Talking about an FE ?? Blocks are the same knock out the plug install dipstick tube and dipstick. If my FEs were closer I'd take a look. Some like 302's had dipstick tube off timing cover.
There is a hole at an angle on the same machined pad the oil filter adapter bolts to, there is a small plug like a freeze plug in there. Knock that plug out from the inside, and then you can put a 2wd dipstick in there.
Knock it out from the inside. Got it. Thanks for the input I figured it had to be knocked out or drilled out. And I really didn't want to have a bunch of metal shaving around my oil pan.
