I hate that the air conditioner will not keep the re-circulate activated when the truck is shut off, requireing you to have to press the re-circulate button everytime. Well I found a bug in the programming that will allow it to keep the re-circulate active after a shut-down. With the AC in auto mode and re-circulate active, shut the truck off. Lock the doors and using the key fob, remote start the truck. Open the door and turn the ignition switch on. Now as long as no changes are made to the AC other than temperature changes, the re-circulate will always be active, even after a restart. Just thought some people could use this. This may be common knowledge and I am just way behind too.
I remote started my truck to allow it to cool down before leaving work one day. The next morning when I started the truck to go to work, the re-circulate switch was still lit. That afternoon when I started the truck it was still lit. It stayed that way for about a month. The my wife had to jack with the AC and messed it up. It took me 3 months of trying different things to get it to work again.
Well, for us in the deep south where the humidity is always high, it is best to re-circ to dry the inside of the truck out. That is the primary purpose of an AC, to dehumidify the air.
Re-circ is a must down here IMO.
Mine does not turn off if I shut the truck down with the A/C running and start with A/C running.
I try to remember to shut off the HVAC system before shut down and I will have to reactivate re-circ after powering on the system.

What..??
The truck needs to breath when not in use...so the closed cabin needs to be open ...when not in use. I'm referring to while the the truck is off. That's the reason for the recirculate turn off when the truck is off.
I live in the south.
I can't imagine a truck that sits for a couple days sealed..
If the truck is off, I'm confused how the the re-circ button is involved?
Nothing is powered.
I will say I do turn off re-circ on the highway or interstate.
But driving around town, the cab fills with exhaust fumes from gasoline cars so I keep re-circ on.

When truck is off,..I am under the impression the outside air is able to allow the truck to breath, but by by shutting off recirculate, truck cannot breath when recirculate is constantly on. Recirculate on,..while truck is off means truck is not airing out while sitting without power.
In other words keeping the recirculate on while truck is parked without key and windows close,,,for the night is bad for the truck for excessive storage in that mode.
So when the truck shuts off, now ..the vents are programmed to open..even if you have to recirculate button pushed....smart idea.
