The writeup on there says you have to modify the sending unit to work with that tank.

Ford F834, take pics and let us know how you do the filler neck to a rear tank. Like to do something like that to mine, getting tired of the little 16 gallon tank.

Yes you can use the old (or new) sender but you have to modify it per instructions that come with the tank.

Another possible problem though is that some trucks like my 4x4 have a skid plate under the tank that holds up the tank (not straps), so the skid plate or bolts would have to be modified as well. If you leave off the skid plate you would have to add tank straps.

Also the OP needs to enter his year and model etc and search to see if there is one that fits. The link I gave was for my '86 F150 EFI.

Hummmm. Yeah. Mine has the skid plates. It's a 1986 F350 4x4 diesel. Autozone says this won't fit, and only has 19 gallon tanks for it... however, the cab donor (probably frame donor too now) is a 1983 F250 4x4 diesel, and they make a 38 gallon tank for it... I really don't know what the difference is, but it is a slightly different part number. Since I will be shortening the frame and other heavy modifications, I'm sure I can make one of these work. I will do a write-up when I get to that point, but it's a few months out at least. Main thing is that there is ~something for me to work with in terms of an aftermarket tank that will generally fit this style of truck... straps plates, modifications aside. Thanks guys!
