72 fuel tank
Can anyone tell me if there is a cheap alternative to the behind seat tank? I really would like to remove the origional tank and don't like the looks of a fuel cell. Is there a tank that can be mounted under bed?

Cheap, i don't know what you call cheap but any truck that had dual tanks has one under the bed. Both my 250's have/had dual tanks. Got one of them tanks sitting on the ground. It came out for tranny replace. Never put it back in. If you lived in my area and it would fit your half ton shorty I'd sell it for ten bucks. So i would imagine they are around. And by the way Decent truck of yours to start with.

scrpungs the bone yards the 72's that came with a rear tank had it located under the drivers side front corner of the bed. it sets pretty low but you wont need to worry about that cause it dosent look like you will be doing any 4x4 stuff any time soon. but there is a small cover that sits inside the bed to allow enough room for the filler neck to sit between the fenders and the bed of the truck. so if you find a truck with the tank under it make sure you get that knock out piece the mounts and take a tape measure to get some cutting sizes.
