Hey guys, I recently bought a 2000 f350 dually with the 7.3 tons of aftermarket parts on it lift, tires, hubs, turbo, tranny, etc.
I noticed today my 4x4 does not work. There is no odd sounds or anything but the light on the dash does not come up and only the back tires are spinning.
I'm hoping it's just the switch for the 4x4. This is how I tried turning it on. I first locked the 4x4 hubs all the way to the right until it clicked and then I turned the switch to 4x4 low (the switch not the lever) also the truck is a 6 speed does it need to be in a certain gear? Please help me as I do not want
To have to buy a new transfer case
First try to get it into 4x4 high. You can do this in any gear... just not high speeds... not recommended.
I woudl check all fuses first before looking into replacing the switch
There is a motor on the back of the transfer case, pull the plug and check for voltage in 4 high.. If you have the voltage there, then your motor will need to be replaced. It is a breeze to do.
I can not tell you what pin sadly, it has been a while. But I unplugged it, checked for voltage, then had some one switch from 2 to 4.
