I need to replace my tilt mechanism on my 90 F250 5 SP the part that attaches to the column broke at the bottom , letting the curved adjusting bar hold only on the bottom. Do they (Ford) sell the part as a complete unit. I had one from a 91 F150, AT, but it is disassembled. I have tried to put it back together but I can't get the long spring to go back in place. ... Is there a "trick" I'm missing or am I wasting my time trying to reassemble it. If I could "weld/solder the old one in place, without starting a 3 alarm fire in the truck I might try it ... but as I remember that "pot metal" is a throw-away item. Any helpful Ideas out there... Dave
Nice thought ... JY's are at a preimum around here 10 mi. and no selection or 65mi. and no selection either !!! ..Dave !!!
That really sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You might try searching for one here, you can customize the search radius.. There just might be one closer than you think, then again maybe not.. But it's worth a try... http://car-part.com/
White 97 XLT !!! I just checked it out and bookmarked it on my computer, It seems to be the only way to "get-er-done" !!! I just think there MUST be a way to reassemble the unit and control that &#%!,n spring. I'm sure doing it would generate MANY four letter words and derogatory phrases. Some mechanic , somewhere has whipped this, and is sitting there laughing his a$$ off. Thanks again, I will have to wait for the end of the month till Social Insecurity eagle/hummingbird dumps my check ... Dave
