Header help!

We are getting ready to put a 428 in my 62 F100 4x4. I thought 59-65 frames were the same, but Summit says 62 is different from the 65 frame. Help! Thanks

The problem comes with the pre 65 Fe swap because they weren't factory. I belive you can use headers for a 66 4x4 with a 352 or a later model with a 390 but be prepared for some massaging to make them work. My 64 has Sanderson's that the PO installed bit the passenger side tubes were cut and turned to clear the starter, if your using a mini starter you should be ok.

What about the Sanderson shorties? Wouldn't they work with ANY FE application?

So even with the shorties they were not a direct fit? Wow! I just spoke with Sanderson, and they guaranteed them to fit with any F100 FE Conversion.

It's very possible, but not with me. Haha I just started searching for headers today. I decided to go with Sanderson.

The 65 frame is different. You should have no problem using the 65 headers though.

That is what I told the Summit guy. I told him I was pretty sure the measurements are the same. So 59-64 4x4's used the same frame? I think the Sanderson shorties will be excellent.

The difference is Twin I Beam front suspension on the 4x2's. You have more room than a 2wd truck for headers
