I thought I read this somewhere on here, but I cant remember and search isn't helping. For the SD spring codes, isn't it X in the front and B for the rear, and from a 99 and up? I'm looking to level and improve ride quality and perhaps get a little more height out of it. To use the SD spring in the front, isn't the RSK required because the spring is longer? I know the rears are the same length so they'll bolt right in.
To make things easier you can go to a site like 4wheelpartswarehouse and purchase a leveling kit. It will have what you need and the longer u-bolts. Projects like this are nice in the package form. Making them an afternoon project. Plus the time and effort researching is almost non-existant. A quick call to a rep can speed it up as well. Tell them what you want to do and they will tell you what they have.
I used to work at that place and quite frankly, they are the kmart of anything offroad. About the only thing they are good for is purchasing the kits and doing it your self but there are so many other places that you can get things from these days that are much more reputable and actually know what they are talking about. So many times as a tech, they would sell crap that wouldnt work on the customers vehicle and then have no way to tell the customer that what they sold them is crap and wont work on their rig but. I'd rather talk to someone that is on the same page as me and know that I am getting correct information. It's no different than when you go to parts counter and ask for something. They have no idea, and if it's not in the book, they dont know the answer. They are salesmen and that is it. Now if I was looking for lets say a water filter for my kitchen sink, then maybe.
I dont want just a leveling kit that will only make the ride worse on a 1 ton. Improving the ride is my main concern. Superduty springs provide that, and as an added bonus give a little lift also I just cant remember the codes for the springs.
sky makes a sweet kit to do the shackle reversal with the superduty "V" code springs. You will gain 3"-4" in height though. The "V" code springs are the softest, lowest height spring and subsequent codes get higher after that.
Thanks 7DF250, that is a sweet kit. I'm going to go with that for sure. Do you know of where I can find a list of all the codes and spring rates for the superduty springs? I dont want anything too soft, but somewhere in the mid to upper range. Isnt the code schedule different for the rear springs too? I thought I had read that "B" was the best for the rear, or are they all "B"? I cant remember.
