Ive got a 2003 F350 powerstroke. The front end is much lower than the rear. It is lower than most of the super duty trucks out there for some reason. Im wanting to level it out. What kits do you guys recommend? As with most people, Im not trying to spend a lot but I also dont want junk.
You basically have three ways of doing it short of a full suspension system. One is add a leaf or mini spring pack which will stiffen up your ride. Another is a hanger kit which uses your existing springs so your ride won't change. The last is to replace your front springs either with different factory springs with a higher spring rate or aftermarket springs.
what kind of price do each one carry? what are the pros and benfits to each? i dont really drive the truck a lot. i just pull with it a couple times a month. i have another truck for a daily driver. i just want to level it so it looks better and put a little bigger more aggressive tire on it.
You will have to check with different vendors for pricing, but as to pro's and con's:
Add a leaf/mini spring packs - cheap, but stiffens ride
hangers - a little more, but doesn't change your ride as you use your existing springs.
swapping springs - most expensive of the three, but if done right (correct spring rate) will give you the best ride.
Don't go with too big of a tire as it will change your gearing and effect your towing capabilities.
I just want it to look level and be able to fit 285/75r16. This is my towing truck, not an offroad truck. The heavy diesel engine tends to like to sink into the mud. I hate the nose dive look it has on it. What are some good places to order from? Ordering and saving on sales tax is always a plus.
Superlift, Skyjacker, Fabtech, and Donahoe Racing are just a few to start looking at. I went with a Fabtech 3.5 hanger kit with my truck and got it cheap from Summit Racing as they were having a closeout sale. Check out SDHQ also.
BTW, 285/75R16 tires will fit on your stock rims and are a nice upgrade from the stock size tires.
Tuff Country makes a 2.5 inch spring pack kit that includes a new track bar bracket($270). I thought about doing the add a leaf, but wasn't sure if it would level my F350 out as much as I'd like. Haven't installed yet, but will when I get time.
