It was referred to as the 2005.5 to 2007 model.

I purchased it thru Rudy's eBay store with a make an offer. Total price with free shipping wasn't much more than a re-manned CHRA from Ford.

I should have mic'd the shaft end and side play as by touch, it had zero. Very nice unit. New Solenoid and turbo install kit. No core charge.

I'll soon order a GPOP rebuild kit and freshen up my old turbo.

I'll add this disclaimer:

You'll notice on Rudy's eBay feedback they somehow send items to the wrong address. They totally fumbled the spelling of my own street address, and rather than hope UPS figures it out, I sent a request during shipping to pick it up at a local store. It was free and not too much of a hassle. Something to consider as their feedback shows it's a continual thing.

the walmart near my house had all the diesel specific oils on red tag sale for some reason... was almost like they were trying to get rid of it to fill with the other oils...

Just moving old stock.

I'm surprised Walmart hasn't pushed for a synthetic Supertech 5W40 CJ4 oil. Their gasoline Supertech oils are highly regarded.

A lot of ATVs and Snowmobiles in your area? Polaris specs 0w50.

That's one thing I noticed of the 3 Super Walmarts near me.

One stocks both sides of the aisle with a variety of oils and coolant. This location will sometimes have Delo 400LE 5W30, all makes of Royal Purple and several varieties of motorcycle oils. Also has Fleet and Final Charge EC-1 for $13 a gallon.

Second has the standard one aisle with some unique varieties.

The third barely has 1/3 of the aisle shelf with oil.

Go figure that the 4th Walmart store, which is the smaller grocery style one actually has more oil than that 3rd Super Walmart.

And as I write this I realize I pay way too much attention to how Walmart stocks their oil shelves.

apparently you do... lol mine they re-arranged the store... now they have an entire isle dedicated to oil and antifreeze... one side its nothing but coolant... the other side is all oil... others in the area just have 1/4 of the shelf for either... makes me sad to see it...

Your not the only one to open the box and check to make sure it's the right filter.

Sometimes my nearest Walmart has Delo 400LE 5W30. Seems to sell out quick as it doesn't last long.

Josh
We need the people that live near and use Costco to get Shell Rotella T6 and coolant.

Could is be the person that is putting the address on the box has dyslexia? Or do they screw it up so
bad that you can't blame it on dyslexia?

Then again they could have the problem I have. Cat trying to help with the type. Mokkun is doing
that right now. Too bad I can teach him how to do dictation with less then 2% error rate.

By the way, There was zero T-6 on the shelf. I took a peek in the tire area and there was a big display against the tire rack, Sign said $21.74. Tag on the shelf said $19.XX, might have been .78.

Clerk grabbed a gallon and said it scanned the shelf price.

Thanks Josh, I'll be interested to see how it works for ya. I did check out there web site and they list a few different models.

I get a little blue smoke on cold start ups that I blame on the turbo so I may be in the market for one in the future.

I check my oil filters before leaving the store. I've seen plenty of filters switched.

Could be dyslexia. To have that many shipping errors somebody is messing up. Why they wouldn't just print out straight from eBay is the real question.

Maybe it's OCD, but when I ship I double check before leaving the house and will even check again before dropping the package off.

This is the unit I purchased. It's a Garrett turbo with new Garrett part numbers in a new Garrett box. I'll admit I am surprised a new turbo for that price versus what Ford charges for a reman.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Garrett-2005-5-2007-6-0L-Ford-Upgrade-Turbo-New-NO-CORE-includes-solenoid-/400780290370?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item5d505de942
I won't disclose the Best Offer price, but it was well under $800.

So far so good the rest of the day Saturday and today.

The real test will be tomorrow, as the blue smoke was the most plentiful after the truck had sat at work all day.

Thanks for the link Josh. $800 is not bad for a new turbo with solenoid and no core.

Keep us updated.

Pretty good price....I just rebuilt my turbo at 190,000 miles for blue smoke also for only $175. When disassembled all internal parts looked near new. My point is be patient when you still see blue smoke still after completing the work....much residual in the inter cooler, lines and intake which takes quite a few miles too clear depending how long your turbo seal was leaking. Exhaust valve guides can also be a cause of blue smoke on start up.
Remember to clean your EGR after it has been oil soaked also....cheers.

Drove to work in about 2" of sleet, snow and ice. It felt good to give the 4x4 a good workout and move some fluid in the tcase finally.
