I think blacked out center caps would look good with those wheels.

NOT one thing as far as mechanical stuff goes. I over did it yesterday and need to slow down a tad.
I might head off to Eastern WA or not just don't know yet. If I go it will be a cat pick up trip with a stop
to look at someone truck while I am over there.

the wheels. So I can see if I can round up enough help to lift the one end or I can lift the truck up with
the floor jack. Then pop the tires off and set it on some jack stands and slide the bed off the rest of the way.
The truck looks sort of funny the way the bed is sitting on it right now.
Lookie Loos screwing up traffic.

The truck really looks funny this way. Had I know what I know now I would of extended 2 of the C channels about
12 to 15 inches more on the inside when I was welding this thing up. I could still extend them now if I wanted to and
adding some rollers to it might not hurt. Sure would make it easy to just roll it.

I had to relearn welding. it's been quite a few years sense the last time I did any MIG and it did not help having the
wrong size wire in the welder. I have 0.023 for small projects and really could of used some 0.030 for this one. Oh well
just had to make a lot of passes and crank up the feed.

More fun on Friday.
I'd help if I was closer....at least yours doesn't look like a shotgun shell like somebody's I know

If your doing this at home be sure to get some thing to stand on like a sheetrock bench and remove
the hood latch after marking it so it goes back in the same place. Then some high density foam that
some give to it but not too much to lay on the hump that has the Power Stroke badge on i. Your chest
will thank me for that and your belly for the hood latch.

Thank you. I'm on the fence towards doing it on my own because my oil cooler grenaded and I'd like to have some type of warranty for the cooler.

My understanding about the Ford warrantee is that the parts will be covered for two years even for the DIY people.
You may want to call someone like Ed at FICMrepair and double check on that.

For those of you that are not clear on why I am swapping beds this photo will give you an idea about what is going on.

You can see in this photo how there is a bit more water in the center. I was able to push some of the bend up with the Port-A-Power.
But could not push it out much more than this. 20 tons of lifting force and all I did was lift the truck off the ground. And if you look
from underneath from the side you can see the rails are bowed down.

Today I did noting other than take a drive down I-5 and back to pick up this precious package.

In his coloring he is a lot like my two boys Tetsu and Mokkun that passed away in 2017. he just does not have the rosettes (spots) that a Savanah would have.
This little guy does not have a name yet and I am thinking on some. Names i won't use are Dodge,Toyota or Chevy.

I am thinking along the lines of Alexander The Great or Xander for short.

That Powerstroke badge hump on top of the fan shroud pops off with one hand and is the first thing I remove when I am going to be laying on top. The hood latch is next!

Was actually yesterday, but I was not on yesterday. Loaded the SRL and drove around "town" a bit, with a massive grin on my face, and promptly came home and loaded the 8k tow. Going to drive it a while with that.
