Check out the 1880's church in Davis Creek as you go north. It was a really cool place to tie the knot in.

BTW, there is construction going on on 395 north of Alturas too, but I'm in the office this week.

Let us know how you like that new radiator? Looking at getting one this coming year once I save some pennies.

Talking Felt like I installed everything but a kitchen sink

Where do I start,
Bought the truck a little over 2 years ago. Its a 2006 f250 4x4 crew cab lariat. When I first purchased the truck I was thinking I got one hellava deal at 15k and 79k on her. Well, then I started reading about the truck AFTER I purchased it and the fun began. Im just really thankful that I love turning a wrench as a hobby ( Have more tools than most shops) and not afraid of digging into anything. When I purchased the truck I also bought the Ford workshop manuals and highly recommend that!
So after reading on here when first bought the truck I tore it down and did the basic repairs, oem oil cooler, stc fitting, stand pipes, rebuilt the turbo, new thermostat, and mitshmoto rad, egr cooler delete, 4 inch down pipe to 5 inch exhaust, blue spring update and I'm sure I'm forgetting a couple things. At that time I thought I was great! LMAO... NOPE.
From then to now I had a couple hiccups, first the alternator ... then batteries. I tow a 10k trailer with it daily. At 137k the tranny took a crap. I had Suncoast build me one with all their goodies and billet shaft for around 7k .
Figured the truck don't have many miles so fix it as I don't want to spend 60k on a new truck. So a couple weeks ago I was reading some more and watching Diesel tech Ron (RIP Ron as every time Im under my hood he poops into my head) and he was talking about low voltage to injectors and testing them as I have had the codes for months and just letting it warm up in the mornings till it sounded right and then I realized its time to spend some more money! So now at 145k miles it needs a few parts:
8 oem ford injectors
new injector wire harness
new engine wire harness ( and if you do this, get ready to have some real fun!)
bullet proof water pump
bullet proof ficm
bullet proof oil cooler delete (the best one they have)
and all their brackets... lol.. 500$ for brackets that dont come with kit for a 2006!
New turbo as unison ring and the tab it rides on was shot.
new gates belt
lower rad hose
Needed most of ficm hardware including rear bracket from dealer as last guy zip tied it in with a piece of angle iron (ME) because previous owner decided it was to hard to install it.

So I started in my driveway on Friday night at 9pm and pretty much was non stop till Sunday night midnight. I had it tore down to the the injectors with driver side injectors out in less than four hours. Oil rail has 2 torx that gave me a brain tease on the pass side. I wasn't about to take the air box out and I didn't own the stubby torx from snap on (bluepoint number BLP TS1430) I just used a tiny 30 torx bit and a little box end wrench on her and they both broke loose.
So once that was done putting in all 8 injectors was a breeze. I cant say that for the wiring harness. Taking out the AC compressor is fun fun fun. Im a big guy and it was a pain getting to that rear bolt. I knew if it was hard getting out it would be real fun getting in! All this to plug in the last clip on the wiring harness. I left all the AC lines hooked up to the compressor but did un hock the to ground wires. The bullet proof air cooler wasnt that bad but I do recommend taking off the front clip as Its really only 8 bolts. and the headlights. That made life a lot easier. They say it can be done with it on ... good luck. lol.
So I'm sitting here... truck is all back together minus 2 valve cover bolts and the rear ficm bracket ( should be here today) and then I hope to fire this thing up.
The only thing I havent done is add a kicthen sink and head studs... time son.. give it time.
Sorry to ramble on.. venting here waiting for parts.

My turn for fan clutch repair.

Currently looking for part and place to do it or have it done.

Oh the joys of doing repairs on the road!

Pioneer Auto Body in Alturas always treated us well when we lived there.

Well, I am still happy with how the silverbullet has been running, numbers are still looking good on the HPOP and IPR %.

I have a customer who is going to stop by on Sunday at my house with his 2003 6oh, he needs me to look it over. Blowing black smoke REALLY bad recently. Gonna pull codes on it, and do some looking around.

He has it PCM tuned (I dont know what tune), and he is only doing a 16.5 sec 1/4 mile. Something is wrong..........

Talking right where they said it would be...

Today I took my 2005 Ex EB 4x4 dash apart to take out the instrument cluster to send off and get repaired. Most of the known good dash lights wouldn't light. Problem with circuit board. Anyway my other task was to locate the signal flasher. Figured since the dash was apart it would be easy. Right?! No such thing. I want to know what was going through the design engineers head when he/she decided to hide it behind the ESOFpanel and then have the gall to put a black cover over it. You can imagine hearing a click, click, click for about 30 minutes right in front of you and be totally clueless. Any way, found it!. I put a blue relay in it socket to make it easier to see in the photo after I removed the black cover piece.

Boy, I haven't posted anything in this thread for a long time.

For my truck, not to it. Yesterday, not today.

Built an adjustable height table for tool and parts holding rather then the cowl, and rad support as normal. More pics in the engine lift and stand thread.

Finally think I found my missing 1 - 1.5 mpg!

560 degrees on the left rear rotor!

All fixed now - thanks for saving me the price of a rotor Jack!
