I'll be doing this in the next few weeks Blake, let me know how it goes.
Travis, did you say it was harder on a 2 Wheel Drive then a four-wheel-drive?
It may be easier on a 2 wheel drive since you don't have to work around the front driveshaft when trying to pull the oil cooler out and put it back in. It can be tricky to wiggle the cooler out.

Will do Glenn, Travis made it sound pretty easy.

Did you ever change the one out on Rocky? How did that compare?
Still haven't changed it out on Rockee. Only 4x4 I have changed it out on so far didn't have the front driveshaft in it and it was easier than mine.
Oh its Rockee, not Rocky. Hmm well i could drop my front drive shaft, its only two u-bolts if it'll make it easier.

Yes look how mine was and the old o-ring:
Well that looks like surface rust from the picture but i could be wrong. If mine looked like that idk if i would bother replacing it. But that o-ring looks like it has a nice flat spot on it.
Blake, my only addition to the advice you have gotten is to soak the tstat housing bolts with wd-40 or pb blaster the night before you start this... When I changed my t stat when i bought the truck, I snapped one and had to drill it out. Also, I have had zero issues with the parts store t stat and gasket... Lastly, I always put silicone gasket maker on the t stat neck so it makes a good seal with the water pump.

Holy cow its James. Hows the SD doing? And thanks thats good advice, and do you mean like black rtv would that work? And i have a pic of the ford t-stat i just bought that I'll post up to make sure its the right one.
So the short stat is has been upgraded like the long stat. Eliminating the need for the o-ring. Interesting. Thanks for posting the pic Blake. Did the part number change?

Oh ok that makes sense now, nope no change in the pn. I handed the guy a piece of paper with the pn's for the y-pipe gasket and t-stat you gave me and got them both no problem. Thanks a bunch Pete.
