Sold it and moved to the f-150

My Construction company sold most of our heavy equipment and have gone to commercial work. I had a long debate with myself and monitoring this awsome site for over 2 years, I think logic took over and I couldnt be happier. I sold a great f-250 truck, after 3 dmaxes and a true chevy guy in the past until the bailout, I think the ford was a far superior truck. But the problems and potential problems drove me get out. The hpfp issue was a large factor and some others consisted of .50 to 1.00 more per gallon fuel, awful Rancho shocks, early edition transmission with all updated flashes that still shifted like a dump truck. I am so tired of the regen mode and all the extra fuel used to get thru it and the poor performance of the truck before and during the process. Driving the f-150 Lariot Ultimate is like driving a Cadillac and I have every option the same. It will be about $ 600.00 cheaper a month. I will miss the power but will probably never own a deisel again with all the restrictions and maintinance cost. Best of luck to all in the future.

You won't be unhappy with the F150, that's for sure.
Those are great trucks, too.

If a 150 will do what you need from a truck, it's the way to go. My wife drives one, and it has been a great truck.
Unfortunately, it won't do what I need a truck to do.

Good for you. It's a lot of money these days to drive a diesel for the heck of it. My daily driver truck is a gas.

Did you get a v8 or ecoboost?

Good luck with your new F150. I often think about doing the same, but not quite ready to pull the trigger on that yet. It would be nice to save another $600 a month though!

600 cheaper a month!!

That makes no sense..unless you got taken to the cleaners on the f250.

Or you bought it the f150 used on Craigslist.....either way, Congrats on the car,...I mean f150.

At least your still with a Ford product!

Honestly I don't think I'll own a diesel in the future again for the same reasons. I wasn't afraid of my 6.7L or even my 6.4L trucks, but the extra hassle just wasn't worth it. Like you I no longer had a need for the capacity and decided to downsize. Unlike you I made a $tupid decision and purchased a Mustang when I traded it in that I'm now trying to sell because I'm needing a truck again. Going to be buying a V10 Excursion though, but if my wife were working it would be a new F150.

If you no longer post on the 6.7L forum we'll be sorry to see you go. These guys didn't get that lucky with me when I sold mine!

Ditto. If I didn't need/want to pull my 5th wheel I'd have a F150 too.

I will always be a fan of this forum. I did have a crazy commercial rate thru ford credit and my payment was high on 54,000.00. I kept it 18 months and the dealer is going to certify it thru ford. I got the max trade in number more than it was worth. The dealer felt he would sell it next week. Shane I has the limited addition seats and loved them. I found a used 1 owner 2010 and it is certified. This truck is a lariat ultimate and has a tick more luxury than the 250. I will be monitoring this for updates. I has checked the 150 site not as much to talk about.
