Mike thank you. I had the belt coming off the crank pulley in the wrong direction.

I got one once that was a tad wider and it squealed like crazy. Bet you have the wrong one.

I do that on occasions. There are 2 ways to put the belt on, and you just swap how it goes around the water pump and crank and your done.

When I read the first post today, I was going to express that I dont think that the SUN could change the elasticity of the belt IMHO.

I never take mine completely off. I get it off of what I want to work on, taking up the slack and lightly vice grip the rest so it will not fall off
