Ok dumb question here, do all idi diesels have a cdr valve or just the turbos ? If they all do where would it be on my 93 N/A 7.3 ?
Both the turbo and the na motors have the CDR. On the na motor, remove the air filter housing, and you will find the CDR bolted to the back side of the air intake.

Thanks Farmert
I will pull mine and clean it this afternoon, I'm sure the po has not cleaned it and will almost 200k on the clock I'm sure it needs it
I have always heard white gas being from Amaco which is now BP gas. It's clear like water while other gas has a brownish tint to it. Its suppose to be cleaner and more filtered. Even though it burns the same.
On larger trucks the crank case is just vented with a hose on the ground. Is there any reason I can't take the cdr off. I have been reading around and it stands for crankcase depression regulator. What is it depressing? Other than venting the crankcase and routing blow by back into the intake. Actually older gassers just have a oil fill/vent cap.
Crack each injector. See if 1 is bad. Change fuel filter and fill with diesel kleen or atf start for a minute and let sit over night.
Thats a good idea sir!
Im going to replace them all once I get payed. The truck has 262 on the clock and Im sure the IP And injectors are orig. and well past their prime.
