Both the turbo and the na motors have the CDR. On the na motor, remove the air filter housing, and you will find the CDR bolted to the back side of the air intake.

yea, I tore my grommet *facepalm*

So after my weekend trip to amarillo, I still have lots of smoke. It also feels like I have a miss when not at idle.

What should my next steps be? injectors? IP? headgaskets?

Also I have not compression tested the motor...I know there is a special tool for it but Im sure its pricy and I gotta save for other truck parts too

Crack each injector. See if 1 is bad. Change fuel filter and fill with diesel kleen or atf start for a minute and let sit over night.

I have always heard white gas being from Amaco which is now BP gas. It's clear like water while other gas has a brownish tint to it. Its suppose to be cleaner and more filtered. Even though it burns the same.

So that's where all the oil in my intake is coming from. Guess I need to clean mine too!!

I don't mind learning I just don't like learning I got something else to fix.

On larger trucks the crank case is just vented with a hose on the ground. Is there any reason I can't take the cdr off. I have been reading around and it stands for crankcase depression regulator. What is it depressing? Other than venting the crankcase and routing blow by back into the intake. Actually older gassers just have a oil fill/vent cap.
