Aftermarket fog lights

My factory fog lights are rusted in the inside (not sure how the salt got in) and its kinda annoying lookin'.

I'm thinking of replacing them with these:

99-04 F250 F350 00-05 EXCURSION HALO PROJECTOR BUMPER FOG LIGHTS LAMPS KIT | eBay

Any thoughts? You think they are bright enough to make a difference? I'm not familiar with projector lights.

The electrical connection should be a direct fit, correct?

I dont like it where it shows blue light (from pic). Maybe there are other ones that are regular color.

Are you talking about the little projector/diffuser thing inside the light? Because nothing else should be metal in there.

If you wanted to, you could just pull the lights off and with lots of time, crush them all up with metal snips and needle nose pliers and pull them out. One of mine broke off inside the light, so that's how I got it out rather than replacing the light.

I go my dual halo projector headlights from that seller... they aren't installed yet but the look like they are very high quality.

I've been looking at those fog lights also, FWIW they are made by Spyder.
Here is the link on the spyder site Spyder Auto | Ford F250 01-04 Halo Projector Fog Lights - Clear

Here they are on Amazon for way more Amazon.com: SPYDER Ford F250 F350 99-04 Excursion 01-04 Halo Projector Fog Lights - Clear /1 pair: Automotive

is there a reason you want halos?

As for the projector driving lights, they should produce a long range beam. projectors generally are not so great in fog, they are designed to throw light out, not difuse which is what you want for fog.

That metal piece inside -- yes I think we are talking about the same thing. There's a lot of rust on the inside part for the lens too.

So you can take this thing apart? I'll have to find out and see if I can just remove the rusted part and clean the lens.

I don't really need halos and not just looking for lights in case it's extremely foggy out. It would be nice to have extra illumination at night.

I was just looking looking around for a replacement part and I saw these on eBay and the price is affordable.

they are a great price, no doubt. I have halos on my car, and they tend to burn out after a while. when one does, then the other just looks goofy. just my oppinion.

The light parts look like they should come apart, but they are glued together. You might be able to put it in the oven to release the glue if you were willing to take the chance, but I just did it all through the bulb hole with the bulb out. Wasn't easy, but I was able to do it.
