The injection pump I found in a salvage yard has a red plug on the left hand side of it. The one on my truck is identical except there is no plug. My truck is a 93 turbo and the other pump is off of a non turbo. Should I remove the plug? What does it do? I have no loose wires that would plug into it.
Left side ... I'll assume you are using the industry standard view of this, As setting in the drivers seat! Thus this plug is on the drivers side of the IP ...
I suspect it's for an Automatic Transmission Truck.
Did that pump come off an Automatic Truck ??
If it did, then it's the VRV (I believe it's called, don't do Automatics) for the Automatic Trans ... Forget about it or remove it.
VRV = Vacuum Regulator Valve
Search for VRV on this site you'll get plenty of info and likely some pics.
