who else gets wheel hop?
im fed up with the terrible wheel hop my truck gets. i have new solid motor mounts, new tranny mount, new u joints, a recently rebuilt rear end, and as of today, brand new leaf springs and shackles. the new leafs helped my situation, but this thing still gets violent hop on any sort of slippery surface. im not trying to do burnouts and donuts, its just that simple things like pulling my boat out of the water become difficult and embarrassing. the hop makes everything else on the truck either loosen up or break. WHAT DO I DO? the leaf springs just cost me a good chunk of change. i mean, the truck rides amazing now, but i cant stand bouncing and sitting still when i get stuck at a stop sign in the rain
funny you guys mentioned the ls, i actually have a brand new ls carrier from ford racing sitting on my garage floor waiting to be installed. i have a 2.73 rear end but i would rather not swap that out because i do a ton of highway driving and i like being able to do 75-80 mph without my motor screaming. i also took a look at these:

how hard are these to install? am i going to be running back and forth to the hardware store when i do them?

Lightnings come stock with slapper bars like those. Not all that great.
Lightning guys run long bars. They are about $450 though.
Cheap way to stop wheel hop is james duff bars. $99

Question... do the bars work better than the kicker shocks for the 4x2's? I have less problems with the shocks on my 4x4, but then that is with more aggresive tires and a different surface. Axle wrap was breaking axles with the bars but never had a problem after switching to the shocks.
Another option.

Not sure of they will work or not for sure but it's a thought

Even with the highway driving, the 3.55s won't hurt your fuel economy much if any at all, if you have an OD transmission.
I still think if you put in the LS, it would greatly reduce this issue. You probably wouldn't even need traction bars. Save your money for now and put the LS in. Then see what you think.
How the heck did you brake those Tuff Country traction bars? Was it from hot rodding or hauling / towing stuff?
Those James Duff ones do look like nicer parts, and are less expensive too.
Are you flooring it and dumping the clutch from every stop light or what?
New shocks will help alot if you haven't done that.

Get 3.55LS gears in there and slow the **** down to 70mph, you won't see any difference in fuel milage and the truck will be far more fun to drive with a ton more acceleration at city speeds. Plus you won't have to slip the clutch from a dead stop any more.
