Tensioner indicator marks
Anybody here know how to read the serpentine belt wear indicator marks on the tensioning arm for an 01 5.4L.? When my engine is cold, the mark is just on the right side of the center between the two rectangles, as the engine warms it goes to center, when the AC compressor kicks on or you give it gas it moves to the left of the center mark. There are no cracks or unusual wear signs on the belt, is it time to replace?

As long as the (moving)mark is between the two rectangles the belt is good. Once the (moving)mark reaches the left rectangle the belt is worn/stretched to the point where it is supposed to be replaced.
