T stat should be fine, just be sure to replace oring between pump and tstat kneck. My new pump from napa didnt have it and the old one leaked.. Pump from ford: $360, NAPA: $165
If you can, return the NAPA one.
You can get a brand new OEM one from Riffraff for $150.

Thanks guys, hopefully tackle this before this weekend. It is really spitting coolant now. I went and got the pump today so I will go back for the clutch fan removal tool and the coolant tomorrow or Thursday. I will definitely put a piece of cardboard in front of the radiator just in case and hopefully will have an extra set of hands to catch the fan if I drop it... lol T-stat was replaced not all that long ago so I think it would be ok to reuse?
James I recomend you make a drawing in a cardboard with the new pump and the holes where the bolts goes, and when you unbolt every one bolt put them in the exact place it goes, because they are of diff. longitud and in that way when you install them you dont have any problem OK?

execpt they don't... The international pump has a place to screw on a filter...
coolant filter kits cost a lot more than $ 150 iirc

Plus the IH pump requires some modifying to work, and re-routing of the coolant hoses. IE... pain in the **** when you can just put a coolant filter in line some place.
So how important is coolant filtration? I seem to read alot about it but never have thought about installing a filter.
Im convinced that it is important the coolant filtration, there are some threads with the topic, I tried to search one but I couldnt find it. Maybe Glenn chime in here later.
And also I think that if you dont use to much your truck is less necessary but maybe Im wrong IDK.
ok... maybe the coolant filter kits are not as expensive as I thought...
part of me still prefers the integrated system as International designed it...

Way out of the budget...
A couple things about the aftermarket and rebuilt pumps and T-Stats.... many have reported issues with BOTH. Both T-States not operating (opening) correctly, and "new" WP's failing relatively quickly. I have a buddy with less than 20k on his and it's leaking again.
And the Riffraff Pump has the "leg." I can send you a picture if you'd like.... its in the box on the couch right behind me.
And the biggest reason a filter is so important, is it WILL extend the life of your pump. As well as the hassle as replacing the pump. Let alone the dirt and and metal wear from the pump itself, but the silicates in the coolant will call out, and essentially act as dirt when going through your pump, expediting wear. A filter will remove those pieces of silicate and any dirt from the cooling system.
