Looking for Info
I own an early 1999 F250 PSD (12/98) It's a great truck and now has 260,000 miles on it. Last weekend I bought another 1999 F250 PSD (3/99)
192,000 miles on it. My questions are in comparing the two trucks.
Here they are:
1. Is the truck made in 3/99 considered an early 99?
2. At what point does the early 99 stop and the later 99 start?
3. Is there a difference in regards to turbo size or injector difference between
12/98 and 3/99?
There is definately a different sound between both engines when running. The 3/99 sounds quieter, also sounds different when starting and seems to start faster too.
Both trucks have new batteries and the early 99 has a new starter.
As always thanks for the input.

The engines on Early 99's have a smaller turbo, spider, and intake, run slightly smaller injectors, and a 15 degree HPOP versus a 17. I always assumed around 12-7-1998 for the magic build date on motor side.
The 3/99 should be a late motor, but may have a mix match of suspension components.
So your questions
1: 3/99 is usually not considered an E99
2: See above it is not a concrete date really.
3: Should be a noticeable difference even to the naked eye. I think if you look closely there is 1 more bolt holding the compressor housing on the L99 IIRC.
