Dave... Thats what I hear! Our county issued over 80 new well permits this summer, 16 of them went up on our ranch land. I have been fighting with the oil field traffic like mad all summer and fall. The nearby by town (70 miles away) is booked full and over run the town like I have never seen before... Now all of a sudden, everyone is picking up and leaving to go to ND.. Talk about movement on the fly when it comes to oil! So I know there is a lot going on up there if its making everything here get up and get gone!

Rebuild... I say the same thing all the time and those that excuse the oil industry come up with some kind of reply as why its more expensive, but I agree with you.. No excuse! Its crap fuel compared to Regular, Mid-Grade and Premium!

Ya that is off road fuel. This country pretty well runs on diesel so i guess they think they need to charge more. But diesel is still cheaper to make. It doesnt make sense.

Another thing to do is go pick up 250 dollars for shell gas fuel at KingSoopers....= X4 points or 1,000 points or 1.00 off the next fill up, its worth it. Save about 40 bucks a fill up... makes a difference over the year!

Wish there was some sort of way to register a vehicle as a ranch vehicle and run red diesel.....

They are just going to export it on the international market anyway Bill. Our president has NO CONTROL, he does as he is told to do or else!! (remember JFK??)

Lots and lots of diesel is being burned in wars which is not helping us either!

I don't mean to make excuses like they do to raise prices. Oh, by the way, #11 valve on #98 pipe line broke and needs replaced. There isn't another one for miles and miles so we better raise the price of a barrel of oil, (I was going to put a LOL at the end of that sentence but its not funny)

They had on national news last night about how speculators buying up shares raise the price at least .50 per gallon because they believe that they will make lots of money from it. One of the local stations here dropped gas .01 but raised diesel .04 overnight.

You're right Glenn, that's probably what they would do. I'm not much on politics really, just try to keep up with what I hear and read. I know you can't believe any of that and only half of what you see.
I work in the coal industry and Obama has been hell-bent on shutting down coal since he was campaigning. That's my job he wants to condemn. Just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
Sorry, I know none of that had anything to do with fuel prices, but there's just too much that doesn't make sense anymore. There has got to be something that our government is able to do to create some sort of relief, especially for the people who work minimum wage jobs. I've talked to a few people that said if they raise fuel/gas prices any more they'll have to quit their job cause it will COST them money to go to work! This is what gets me about the whole thing, the rich will pay whatever, it doesn't affect them. The people who don't want to work don't need to go everyday, so it barely affects them. The working people are the ones that have to take the brunt of it.
I guess I should not complain and be thankful for what I have... a good job, and a little extra money to play with my trucks! Oh yeah, and a wife that let's me!!LOL!

Just had to explain to a customer why freight charges are up 15% this year. Fuel prices affect everything and helped push us into this tailspin. Really starting to pull out of it and here we go again. I am not that old and remember diesel at .84 a gallon. Somehow we are being fleeced.

I aggree, I dont think the average Joe realizes that diesel powers the world, try and name something that "isn't" moved by diesel. This crock that supply and demand drives the price is BS. I personally think the speculators are doing most of the damage. Take it off the stock exchange and put it on the free market. The big oil company's have their hands around the politicians necks, so they wont do any thing to help. Plus the rich dont care what it cost or what it does to the average working man. Just my 2 cents.

It's crap like that right there why this country is in the shape it's in. These kind of things is what should be regulated by someone to try to stabilize the the prices.
