If I had a laptop I'd have snapped one up myself too! The Milwaukee dedicated stand along unit I have cost about $115 gently used which still isn't a lot for a good and useful tool. I'm guessing the images will be sufficient for most garage-type tasks but maybe its longevity won't be the best? Then again I'd hate to spend $100's on such a tool and have it suffer an accident which is highly possible.
For the money it can't be a horrendously horrible deal---also looking forward to the review!

well, delivery time was very good. shipped from champaign,IL , on the 8th, came in this morning.
instructions are the normal useless chinese stuff.
focal distance is advertised as 4-6 cm, or 1 1/2 to 2 1/3 inch.
you can clearly read fine print at 4 inches. and see good enough to make out details at 12 inches.
led's at controlled by a rheostat on the usb plug, but i found that out the hard way after looking for 20 minutes to find the switch .
overall, i think it is worth the money. good to have in the laptop bag with the auto enginuity, but not something you loose any sleep over if it gets stolen.
