Ford

It looks like the F-150 drive train will be in the new Transit Van!

too bad Ford didn't attempt to put that in the Econoline...
Imagine the fuel economy, towing power and the ability to add more power for just plain fun!

But hopefully this new van and motor does well, so in 5 years I can buy a used one. lol

I am going to go out on a limb here and state if they might even get the 5.0 and the baby diesel 6 they have been developing under the hood. A sport version might be available and the aftermarket will make this a sleeper.

From the picture the doors have the dipping F-series side door glass which means they have done lots of sheet metal changes as well to accommodate the N/A tastes.

Oh yeah---I'm totally with your line of thought there BB!

I've begun paying more attention to the Freightliner Sprinter, peeking inside, talking to drivers just to gain a bit more insight to what'll be Ford's replacement for the E Vans. They don't necessarily directly compare but in my mind they'll be similar enough to suit my interests.

A gasoline engine with good performance power is encouraging----looking forward to the chassis choices. As it is now the Sprinter 2500 would fit my needs; assuming the Transit is anything similar I'd have no problems with it at all.

Of course 5 or 6 years into its North America production run will certainly be a good shake down period---wonder what we'll see here on FTE from hands-on users.
