Wiring Question

Hello, I am converting my 52 from 6V to 12V. I've looked at a lot of the postings both old and new. I have all of Dan/Julies stuff as well. I think I have it right so far but want to be sure. I've removed the generator, voltage regulator, old keyswitch, old solenoid, and push button. I added a new 10Si 3 wire Alt, a new ignition switch and solenoid.Wish I knew how to draw a picture but will just try to convey my wiring point to point.

From Battery side of solenoid to BAT on keyswitch
From IGN of keyswitch to I post on Solenoid
From I post of Solenoid to + post of coil
From START on Keyswitch to S post of solenoid

If anyone can decipher this and tell me if this sounds correct I would appreciate it.

Thanks

From Battery side of solenoid to BAT on keyswitch correct

From IGN of keyswitch to a Ballast Resistor then to the POS side of the coil

From I post of Solenoid to + post of coil correct
From START on Keyswitch to S post of solenoid correct

When you crank the starter the "I" post supplies 12v to the coil for starting. When released then the coil gets it's "reduced" power thru the ballast resistor making the points last longer.

Please feel free to correct me if I am mistaken.

I think Old-Style is correct!

Here's a link to a thread with an illustration....the solenoid in the picture isn't labeled with the I & S, but here it is: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...2v-switch.html

Finished my 12 volt negative ground GM Alternator today and it lives!!! It started so quick like a new truck. Now on to the entire new Speedway wiring harness! I just ran wires point to point for this to test things.
Thanks for the support on this question.

Congratz! I just finished up my 12 volt conversion on my 1951 last weekend. Certainly is a confidence builder for sure.
