I know many of you may have already received this, but I will share what I have. The other day I received a notice from Ford that they are replacing the accelerator pedal sensor for no charge. And, if you have already had it done, they will reimburse you. It seems it is only on models with adustable pedals. Here's the TSB number for those interested that have not received notice. They call it Customer Satisfaction Program 03B03. I don't know if this pertains to all vehicles with adjustable pedals, or just PSD's with adjustable pedals. However, if you have the "fly by wire" accelerator pedal in your truck, you all may want to check on it.
I would push the gas pedal an nothing would happen. Then, as you're pushing it wondering what's wrong it would make contact and you'd be surprised by the full-throttle holeshot you're suddenly doing straight toward the garage!
It took the dealership 6 days to get the parts and get it fixed!

My buddy works at the Ford parts distributor. I think I'll get a price from him and just fix it myself! The last time I had mine in for warranty work it sat for three days....including the weekend before the tech could even look at it I would like to charge Ford for a rental truck....and let 'em make five days worth of payments since thay can't seem....or rather their dealers can't seem to keep good mechanics on staff. It is easier for me to just buy the part and make the fix myself. It is a lot cheaper than being without my truck for days.
