OK guys i have now replaced my steering gear 2 times and on my way now to get hose #2. The pressure line keeps leaking at the gear making a heck of a mess any suggestion?
Please any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Do you still have your original steering box or did you turn it in for a core ?
ReBilld,
I DID turn the factory 1 in for the core return.
Why? It was bad you could hardly turn it and it was popping real bad.
Do the steering boxes have a removable fitting that the high pressure line screws into?
I know on some power steering pumps you have to take that fitting out of the old pump and put it in the new one, even though the new one has a fitting in it, for some reason they may be a little different and won't seal. Just thought this could be the case with your new or remanufactured steering box.
Well i went and got another hose and really took my time putting it on. I wiggled and shimmied and got it finger tight down to about where u could only see 4ish threads. Gave it a little snuggin with the wrench, started it up and the same thing. Still blowin fluid out around the steel line and the fitting it looks like.
Should I try getting the hose from the dealer instead?
Well went to ford this morning and no dealer around here had that hose so, i went to KOI they had it when i looked it next to the Advanced Auto one it was a lot beefier at the gear end.
Put it on and same thing still spaying fluid everywhere.
The guy at KOI said i may have the wrong gear on it.
Anyone else have a 97 F-250HD? If i remember correctly the right gear for this truck is the one that has the 2 bolt cover on top.
There is a copper raised cylinder in the center of the gear port. Im guessing the flanged out end goes around that and it creates a seal when you tighten it up. By looking at the hose it looks like the flanged ends outer diameter is too big for it to slip down over the copper cylinder.
