I have 67 F-100. In the kit I got two manifold gaskets and I also have heat shields. Can some one explain their sequence. I waws thinking to sandwich heat shild between ntwo manifold gaskets. Please let someonw if this noy right. Also both manifold gaskets are of different shape and I am not sure wich one goes where. My shopm manual does not go into this details. If there is a picture, that would clear up everything. I will appreciate some help. At this time I am stuck!!
Been many years since I've seen a typical rebuild gasket set I'm not sure what they gave you.
You only use one gasket per side. Not sure what this heat shield thing is? Block off for heat crossover?(just a small square). Only sheetmetal under the intake on an FE is the heat shield that clips under the head gasket edges and goes down into valley.
There are a few different port sizes for FE intakes, so I would use the gasket that best fits your heads.
You aren't suppose to use gaskets on exhaust manifolds, as they only blow out in short order. They are a band aid fix for poor sealing surfaces, and short lived.
