1979 4x4 engine question
hey all just wondering, did the 300 come in a 4x4 f150? has 4.11gears np435 and married 205. i know the guy i bought it from put it in from a van but did ford offer it from factory?

Yup, but since the 300 was an under-appreciated engine, most were swapped out in favor of V-8's. They never offered a 390 in a 4x4, but there are plenty that were swapped in. 4x4's came with 360's. Unless it was swapped or stroked to a 390, and it's a 4x4, that 390 that most people say is in their truck is actually a 360. ...just something to look out for.
