I knew there was a tool for them, just don't have one and was running out of daylight so I didn't make the trip to Autozone (wasn't sure they would even have one either). I thought I was smarter than that little clamp - almost was wrong!
I will be putting that little beauty on a birthday wish list for sure!
I paid 80 bucks for blue point which seems a little expensive for removing clamps but after messing with my share of hose clamps, once I saw that tool I HAD to have a pair.LOL
I hear ya! The main issue I had was the position (inaccessible) of the clamp at the block and the goofy tray the air filter housing sits on. Very awkward. Some needle nose vise grips finally did the job, but my hands were almost not strong enough with the positioning I was in. Should have taken that tray off also ................
I have fumoto vales in the block - both sides. Made it real nice.
I had them put in when I had the studs done.
I would remove the starter to install the passenger side fumoto valve. It was hard enough to reach in there and connect the drain hose (I have both block drains connected to a drain hose, and I tie them together to one drain location).
I bought the fumoto's for my block drain plugs ages ago. Unfortunately my plugs are rusted in place so they sit on my shelf for now.
I have the allen wrench on a socket fitting for my impact gun .... just gotta figure if taking an impact gun to it is a gutsy move or a stupid one

Hey Tony -
How wide does yours open up? The clamp on the lower hose has tabs a little wider than 2.5 inches. A similar tool at Sears only opens up 2 inches.
Bismic, I saw that the Rotella Ultra ELC is rated to go "600,000 highway miles." Are you gonna keep the standard coolant flush intervals or bump it back a bit now?

Do you recall the Fumoto part number? Is it the same as the oil drain plug (F-111N)? Thanks.
I just did a Flush a few weeks ago myself & it took 4 times for the D/Water to look good n clear (SUCKS) but i stuck w/Ford Gold.
Hopefully i made a good decision
