K&N CAI???

Im buying a K&N cold air intake for my 89 351w. How much hp gain should i expect or gain out of this air intake??? my engine is pure stock, so im gonna start off with a cold air intake. Seat of the pants power gain will be nonexistent, mileage gains will hardly be noticeable if there are any.

You won't notice any difference with a stock 89 351 , the exhaust , the intake manifold , and the small cam dosn't move enough air .... but with a good exhaust , cam , heads and intake then you will see the difference....

if it gets oiled then it is worthless , dry filters are always better !

The only gain will be NOISE from the intake....

I have a CAI on my truck. Didn't notice and gains other then engine sound, sounds alot meaner now

you wont gain enuff hp to feel a difference, no mileage difference either, but. Its your truck, if you want it, buy it

There K&N's are expensive, take a look at the ones from Trick flow and Summit. They look identical and cost much less.

midnite i love the look of your setup. i have just the stock replacement K&N inside the original air box with a 460 air tube and i like it but no seat of the pants feel. but i found mine new in the box at the local pic a part and they only charged me $2 for it

Have you bought the cai already, and then asked about it.
Or you're just curious about it.

The air intake of our trucks is not the restriction.
You are wasting money on a brand name product that does virtually nothing.
Get the Setup midnite has and you'll be very happy.

Me, I just bought a very nice kn drop in filter for 9$ shipped on eBay.
