Being a former member of the dodge brainwashing cult,i have
used nothing but 5w30 in my trucks, the manual for my 2001
F-150 states 5w20....i have asked around, work ect and have
gotten mixed reviews. Iowa summers come with blistering heat
and humidities in the high 90's. viscosity wise is there a problem
with running all climate 5w30 in the 2001 4.6? or will there be
oil pump issues in the colder months? thanks in advance...dave
May want to run thru the oil and lube section toward the bottom of the page. It has a lot on the 5w-20 spec. To tell you the short of it, the 5w-20 is a synthetic blend that equals or beats any "pure" synthetic or any Xw-30 dino. Don't be afraid to use it.
