Do you have to use the tool or will a 1 3/8" open end wrench work?

If I can't use an open end wrench I'm going to have to bail on the STC fitting replacment. I need the truck by Saturday. I'll just have to do the egr delete and oil cooler replacement and be done with it.

I really don't know how an open ended wrench would work - it is tight back in there. Since you are removing the turbo, etc, it would probably work. Many people cut a slot in a cheap socket.

I think I'm going to leave it for now then. Truck isn't showing any symptoms of a bad STC. Was just going to tackle it while I was that far in for the egr delete and oil cooler replacement. I'll just keep the new STC for when/if I do need it.

If you have the turbo out the IPR should come out with an open end wrench just fine. IIRC I used a 15" crescent wrench the first time I removed mine.
