I had it in 02. It took lots of antibiotics to cure.I used the one you are taking. It made me sick too. I also has Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever with mine. I still feel different. It seemed to make my arthritis worse. It took 2 months to kill it. I hope yours is killed quick. Its a bad disease.
Thanks for the support and insight! I am glad you are back to "normal"! Did you ever feel like you were going crazy?....like racing thoughts and doom? I'll be glad when my mind stops running off while leaving me with doom and dispare. It is hard to "talk myself down". It is also hard to describe to my wife/friends/coworkers/others how I feel. Thanks for your thoughts.
I felt like I was crazy during my treatment.I blame the meds. Don't go into direct sunlight. I could see my skin sunburn. Five minutes was enough to burn in May. No one understood my feelings either.Mine were much like the ones you are having. I have vague memories of much of the first weeks of recovery. I thought it was just me. I feel like Lyme aged me 8 to 10 years. I've never felt the way I did before I had it.I fear a tick more than anything in this world. I had one on me last week. I'm watching the spot like wild for a rash or circle.
Best wishes. Your not crazy its the Lyme. Its wicked.
I also think about snakes with my job working in the woods as well...I've seen on interviews on how it treats people. I rather get shot or blown up than having to go through that crap. People will be having seizures and foaming at the mouth....it's crazy.
just got back from a "walk" around the block after waking up after 3 hours of sleep in hell. got to get up in 3+ hours......here we go again. my wife thinks I'm nuts...see you all tomorrow
I'm laying here after finally giving in and taking a pain pill to allow me to deal with the whatever is going on in my back.
Hopefully I'll drop off again in a bit.
Ian you should speak to a medical professional concerning your anxiety.
The side effects of the primary treatment appear to be a source of the feelings and a change of meds may be in order.

Appearently when the Lyme dies...it turns toxic in your system/body. It not only effects you physically...it messes with your mind as well. Unfortunatly, your mind the last thing to come back. I am waiting for the Dr. to call me back now....I am going to ask for some anti-anxiaty meds for the evenings.
Am I having fun yet?
Don't give up. I still have some problems. My main one is severe arthritis in both knees. I think its a common thing. They were clear in 03 & full of it in 08.I just hope for more research to find a real cure.
One good thing about threads like this is that I take it upon myself to research things like 'Lymes Disease' which, not too long ago, I only knew was mostly transmitted through tick bites........
I remember when 'Chronic Fatigue Syndrome' was first making waves oh.......15 or 20 years ago. Lots of THEM were really cases of Lymes Disease.....correct?
Excuse me while I throw up again!
Good and bad days/hours....medicine sux! I understand Alinis Morrisette (sp)....when she says "How about getting offf these ANTIBIOTICS"!
did she have Lymes?
I'm late to this thread, but my wife had Lyme and Tick Fever. If you are diagnosed with EITHER immediately get checked for both.
Insist! Many docs have NO idea about this problem because they stopped learning when they graduated med school. My wife had to fight with a selection of idiots until she PROVED her point when they referred her to specialists!
Drench yourself in DEET when outdoors, kill everything which provides insect cover around your shop and yard vehicles (I used total vegetation killer in a fire extinguisher and would like to find something which is a genuine soil sterilant), spray your pets and install flea and tick collars, and inspect yourself for ticks frequently.
Lyme and Tick Fever are persistent and nasty. I never go barefoot or wear shorts anyway (the outdoors is a bad place) and the epidemic of Lyme bears that out.
