Howdy all!
I have been in and out of the FTE community over the past 6+ months and I found out the reason why I am "ON" at times and not at other times. My health has really gone down hill over the last year+ (s). I've had terrible neck and elbow/hands and other problems ie insomnia memory loss, feeling sick etc... After bouncing around from NEO surgeon to NEO surgeon my wife (the cybercondriact) finally diagnosed me correctly! I am positive for Lymes after a blood test. I am going to see a Dr. at a Infection Disease Center April 26th. I have read all kinds of horror stories and have heard many other stories of the disease.
Anyone know anything about what I am about to go through treatment?
Thanks!
Thanks Brother! I have good days/hours and then BAD days hours, lol. Right now is a "good" time. I dunno what later/tomorrow will bring. Like a roller coaster.
There are MANY professional medical opinions that conflict with each other. Apparently Lymes is not fun in the later stages of the disease.
This may turn in to a loooong drawn out thread for a few months but I'd like to document and share my experience with you all to help us and our friends in the future. But I really can't get the "party started" until I see this Lymes specialist then end of next month but I'd like to know what others have heard about it. I am sure some others here in our community have had it and I'd like to hear their stories too. I need all the ammo I can get for this up coming battle.
My Dad has Lymes. Could not stay awake due to constant fatigue. Massive doses of antibiotics in the hospital, and each day for 3 wks. he went to the hospital for an IV. However, he is doing well, and was in his early 80's when he got it. The key is the anitbiotics. If you need to speak with someone who has experienced it, leave a message on this page and I will send my telephone#. Good luck!
Absolutely best wishes, speedy and complete recovery sir----at least you've been diagnosed and on the way back to your old self----whatever that might have been!
Thanks for all the well wishes! I know you all truely sincere and I appriciate your empathy. I will keep you all posted when something changes or I learn something new but for today/right now, I feel OK. I hate to say this (b/c I feel guilty) but I NEED my pain pills! If I did not have those, my life would be truely unmanagble!...there ZERO doubt in my mind.
Thanks
Our winter has been so light, here in Texas, we didn't get enough cold to knock down the bugs. We have been warned that ticks will be terrible here this year.
The mosquitoes will be pretty bad unless we are as dry as we were last year.
well, you know what they say Ian, when life gives you lymes.......
oh wait. that is lemons...
it will be an up/down battle. i have been fighting it for 6 years now. some days are good, some days are bad. stick with the antibiotics. that is the only thing that will control it. .
and the lymes has made the arthritis a living hell.
Good luck. My Aunt caught it when she came down for my wedding. I'm not sure where she picked up the tick...they didn't spend any time in a wooded area.

Just take yer treatments man and good luck!
Yup. Our house butts up to the woods. I have to check myself and the kids over after they've been in the backyard. I've pulled a couple off them, a handful off myself, and a few off of each of the dogs. One evening, I was taking a shower and noticed what looked like a mole on my ball-bag. I didn't think anything of it until it moved (the legs) . Ticks are nasty little creatures.
Glad they finally got you diagnosed correctly. In this day and time of modern medicine you wouldn't think it would take them so long to figure out what ails you. Hopefully everyday will bring you a little closer to full health.
