Update time....
Brought the cab and front sheetmetal home today...
Pretty solid 76 Front walk away..
Going to have to do a little welding and bodywork, but overall,it has possibilities..I am going to sell off the 76 grilles as well as some of the other misc items..Doors are shot but will help keep the weather out till I get some nice ones to mount western mirrors on.

I'll remove them tomorrow and give them a look at.I am willing to part ways with them as well as the orange turn signal lenses if they are good. Gotta free up some cash for needed items to get to my objective..
Funny story about Heuring ford. We moved from Lake Station in 1977 and moved to central Pa. I had not been back her since then and in 2007,I finally returned there. I went to see if Heuring was still there as well as Len Pollack Buick where dad worked. Pollack is gone, but to my surprise Heuring was still intact.I wanted some pics of the place to remind me of the old days. As I was taking them,a salesman came out and asked if he could help me.I explained that dad worked there in 1973-1977. He asked who dad was and when I told him,he laughed. Not only did he remember and work with dad,he remembered me from going in on weekends and helping wash the vehicles. He was gracious enough to give me several free things like a license plate and frame as well as other items. I had a great time there.

Deconstruction of the donor cab began today. I learned a few things today that I never knew...The dash is removeable, and if you aren't planning to save a windshield,it will come out totally easy and not break, and getting to those dash pad bolts isn't a fun time, but I managed through it.
The firewall wont take much to get it looking good. A good covering of POR 15 will also help out.
For the most part this area is decent.
A new cover for the seats will have it looking good.It is very solid and not torn up,only its brown instead of black
Going to have some parts for cheap if anyone is interested decent power booster and auto column

Well I wanted to update on this truck. After much thinking and decisions,I have decided to just give up on the resto on dad's truck. It is so far gone that there is no way to save it. The cab was sold as well as the walk away. The frame is really bad and it will just take too much money to repair it. I was bummed for months about it.I since have decided to get me a truck for use to haul my racecar and pull some bigger trailers. I will sell any of the parts from dads truck so I can use the cash to fix up the new to me truck. If there is any interest in the parts I have,I will deal with you to get rid of them. I now have bought me a 1995 F 350 crew cab dually 2wd automatic with a 7.3 turbo diesel. So,entertain me with offers for parts. I will get a list of items I have and a better idea of all I have to sell..

Yeah after I started seriously digging it will cost way more than I can afford. I have some pics of it and have some personal items from it. I would love to see the front brush guard as well as some of the other items reused on another truck. I have some new parts like a 360 front timing cover,2 power steering pumps oil bath air cleaner.I'd like to see them used..I am thinking I may have the bug shield on my new ride painted with the same Blood,Sweat and Gears words like dads as a dedication to dad.

X2. I hate to see a project hit a dead end but life and reality sometimes take command.
You were rebuilding it because it was your dad's and you had a strong sentimental attachment to it.
From the sound of it, by the time you finished, it would've pretty much been a different truck.
Maybe someday, finances allowing, you could find a truck in decent shape and build it as a tribute to your dad adding some of the custom touches he had on his.
Good luck .
