Bigger wheels.
Bigger wheels.
I planning to buy bigger wheels to the F-250 4x4 ccsb 97.
I got 2 questions. :
The truck already got a 4" lift and I cant go any higher without getting problems with the cops. Norwegian regulations.
How big tires can I expect to fit widthout cutting metal? I can live with some cutting on the front bumper.
It got 16" rims now, do 15" rims fit around the brakes on both axels ?
You guys have helped me out before, so thanks in advance
Best regards.

15" wheels will be INCREDIBLY tight if they fit. You're looking at 16's at minimum.
35's should be no problem. 37's with the right offset and maybe a little bumper trimming. 40's should fit too but backspacing would be critical and you may have to trim a bit. Also it depends on how much off roading you do and how stuffed the tires are going to get. You may be able to get some cutout flairs and go pretty big.
Now are your regulations about the lift or total truck height? Because taller tires are going to lift the truck higher. Some regs are about total suspension lift and say nothing about tire heights.... Do you know?

You can fit 15" rims, but they have to have a backspacing of 2.5" or less. Which is hell on ball joints and have a tendency to snap wheel studs on powerful motors.
With that said, go with 16" rims, and get 315/75r16 tires. They are the equivalent of 35"x12.5". If you put on bigger than that I'm sure it'll jack the truck up more than you want and cause issues with the law.

Did a bit more searching and it looks like the later trucks don't have as much room as the earlier trucks. 35-36" tires are your best safe bet without any cutting. Also, you don't have to cut the front bumper, you can space it out 2-3" and have as much clearance as you need.
