Has anyone had trouble with the 2011 super duty transmission going into A free wheeling no response to throttle or rpms. Its done this twice when taking off easy. Once not towing and again yesterday towing. High rpms but no response from transmission. Im going to dealer with it. Just looking for any thoughts before I take it in.

Was the transmission already in gear, or had you just placed it in gear? Are you sure you had the selector firmly engaged into gear? Just trying to think of simple things first, perhaps your shifting cable needs adjustment.
Mine does it. Seems to happen when i start it and leave imediatly. Happens warm or cold. Dealer has no idea what causes it and it does not show any codes. I am to the point that i don't let it bother me. I traded my F250 because tranny (and multiple other probloms) could not get fixed. I do not have anything to back it up but I belive it is a computer problom.
My did the same thing between 1 an2. First time was under 500 mi. Did not do again till 18,500 mi. did it twice in a week. Dealer checked there were no codes. Just flashed it, no solenoid changed. Just had it done, time will tell if ts fixed. Let us know what they do to yours.
I want to thank all that replied with there input on this thread. I feel better just knowing it may not be a big ordeal. Hope to get it checked out when I can free up the truck.
Again thanks all!!
I have not forgotten to let you guys know about truck. have not had chance to take go to dealer. We got a new toy hauler and have to go and try it out. I will get to the dealer at some point and do the trans shift thing. Been working ok.
Should give truck a better work out pulling the new 41 foot toy hauler this weekend
Just got back from trip and tranny worked just fine pulling the new camper. So I'm not sure if I want dealer to do anything just yet if it was just a glitch in the computer. What do you all think ? I did note that it is when it shifts from 2nd to 3rd.
