2 door excursion

Custom Autos by Tim has done a conversion like this. I believe the one he did was an '02 black V10 if memory serves. I'm guessing more of his customers have a desire for a new Excursion or a stretch.
I can't think of any problems off the top of my head. I think it would be tough to fit a driveshaft in if it were 4x4, but it must fit somehow since Tim did it.
You could get the seats out of an extended cab F-250/350 that tip forward so you can have access to the second row. I can't remember if that's what Tim did or not.

Its been done, its been talked about a fair bit on here too.
There are pics of it finished, but this pic highlights the biggest downfall of the swap: look how the angled rear glass meets the straight front door. Yuck.
Plus in that pic the rear axle looks like its about 4" too far forward.
A modern bronco would be cool, but my favorite part of the broncos is that the top comes off. The shortened excursion might be fun to play around in, but as long as its got a fixed roof, no thanks, I'd rather keep mine big enough to camp in and big enough to tow a play vehicle to the trailhead.

Sorry, IMO that's the fugliest thing on the planet. At least the Scout and Bronco had some off-road capability...just look at the departure angle on that thing! The only way to combat it is to lift it, and with the motor and trans so long, the axle angle is going to be ridiculous, not to mention the angle from the transfer case to the drive shaft.
Just looks like a completely impractical thing to me...take a huge truck and hack it in half, removing the one thing it was known for - ROOM!

Plus where are you gonna get that foot from? You can't cut down the door, its got the glass in it... You could start with an extended cab, but I think that would look really silly and be almost as long as a 4 door.
