door tag code help
and
so here's what i've been able to get from the searches:
F350, regular cab, 140" WB, 460, D70, 4.10's
any help with interior and exterior color? or anything else?
obviously been repainted at some point, as evident by the tape line around the paper tag.
above the paper tag, there is a faint date (03-20-1979) and a faint VIN. Does this tell me anything in particular? other than it may be origional?
anything else?
thanks in advance!
Color code M is white.. Wimbledon White, IIRC.

A general comment - yeah man.. that's cool that everything syncs up as far as VIN and stuff. The previous owner did ya a favor my taping up the paper tag cover.
As far as the date 3-20-1979... that's the circa when your rig was built. Cool.
that link is exactly what i was looking for.... kinda cool that it was ordered out of omaha, which is about 4 hours south of where I live now.
likely the truck lived it's whole life with in a 8 hour radius. not too many local survivors here in the rust belt.
suppose, i just need to spring for a Marti report.
dammit!!! it was supposed to be a FARM TRUCK !!!! Suppose. that's what you get for buying a decent looking truck with low miles .. ya end up fallin' in love with it, and fixin' it up instead of using it up like you had originally planned.
oh well, whatayado?
I'd call it a survivor if you're in a relatively rural area. I mean, these trucks were work trucks and normally worked very hard - unlike the cushy, comfy trucks made these days where engineers slave over reducing every source of noise, harshness, and vibration.
