Whoops! Not Good!

Some of you may have read my 'Leak' thread:

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1142837-leak.html

Well, I found the leak. Not good! Oil is leaking at the oil pressure sensor I just replaced. It appears that when I installed the sensor, I must have cross threaded it. The sensor was finger tight. I pulled it out to find that the threads were stripped clean. Threads appear fine on the sensor but the threads on the truck side are messed up bad!

What do I do? Can you just buy the part the sensor attaches? If so, whats the part number and how much?

Man that sucks

All I can think of is a new oil cooler housing

Thats one part I wouldnt want to Jimmey Rig cause if it blows apart its going to dump oil FAST

I guess the Catch 22 to that is if it did lose Oil the truck would shut off before anything got damaged because it wouldnt fire the Injectors without any HPO

Aluminum ya right I wont even use a Torq wrench on that stuff anymore

Ford for parts unless you can find someone that has it left over from a BPD setup

Its going to require you to change the oil cooler out so maybe a couple days if you havent been in there B4

would be a great time to install a new oil cooler if spreads out of spec

But basicaly an oil cooler job

That's usually what gives away a LPO failure after one has eating needle bearing from a failed lifter.

The only part number I've been able to find is this:

3C3Z-6881

But there should be a two letter suffix behind a second dash. Tousley lists one for $500...but I'm not sure if that's a complete cooler & housing or just the housing. You might fire off a PM to nccpartsman...I know he's got an extra (complete assembly) one for sale. Should fit an '05 and up truck going off the top of my head.

I got my oil cooler from the dealer, they told me over the phone it was just over 350.00. I went in after work to pick it up (in uniform) and they gave me a law enforcement discount that brought it down to 278.00. So check withe the dealer and see if they will come down at all.

Actually, the part number posted by BLADE35 is now obsolete. You can no longer purchase an entire oil cooler assembly from Ford. The part you are after, is the oil filter adapter plate (the part that the oil/fuel filter housing, EOT sensor, EOP switch and turbo oil supply tube attach to), which I believe is part number 3C3Z-6881-AA if I recall correctly. The part number for the oil cooler KIT is part number 3C3Z-6A642-CA which includes the cooler core, along with the screen under the oil cooler and all the o-rings and gaskets needed for the install. You will need to transfer and re-use the oil cooler top cover for this repair.

If you want an EGR Deleate then Now is the Time for shure

I havent come across a Part # for just the housing yet

Last time that I checked Tousley Ford had just the oil cooler for 215.00 they are also a site sponser now so

If you can let it go Tousley will be your best bet unless somebody has one left over

I would also get a Turbo Hardware Kit to and Intake gaskets now Intakes are reusable but you have to get them out without damage but not to bad
