Alright, I bought a 2000 f250 and the only things done to it when i bought it was the guy put a cone K&N air filter, deleted the muffler, and a t. s chip. Now since then I have replaced the k&N with a 6637, put on a 4" turbo back MBRP, fixed the up pipes from leaking, replaced the cps, and just put guages on(pyro, trans, boost). Now heres my question, with the T.S. tunes are they just generice across the board if you don't ask for one specific to your set up? I ask this cause I have driven many miles and some were at wide open throttle in the 70 tune mostly. Well I put my gauges on and did a run in the 70 tune and I watched the egt's get to like 1500 when I let off. Well first thought was ok the probe has to be bad, cause that hot something surely wouldve already broken while ive been running around without gauges. So I double checked the centering of the probe and decided to run it through the stock tune and 50 tune. well stocke tune it stayed like 1200 and eventually cooled off, while 50 was like 1400 and cooled off but 70 maxes the gauge straight out. Another wierd thing is while it gets up to super high temps in the 70 tune its not really smoking black. could just be I cant see it at that speed anymore, but I am stumped. Thanks
Really an unknown, definitely a little on the hot side. Are you just assuming it is standard TS tuning? OR Is that what is known?
Where is your probe mounted? What kind of gauges?
You don't have to see black smoke for there to be quite a fire inside the cylinder. Since Black smoke is really improperly burned fuel, you may be getting good burn but still too hot for extended periods. What temps just cruising on the highway or around town are you seeing?
I installed the isspro ev2 gauge kit from riff raff, the probe is mounted on the driver side, right were the manifold bolts to the up pipe. Ideling its sitting around 350 degrees sometimes 400. 70 mph on the interstate its right around 750-800. Around town like city driving, it will hit anywere from 500-800 and as soo as I left of the throttle it will almost immediatly drop down to 500 range. And while I do the w.o.t. pulls its boosting 10-12lbs.

sounds to me like you have a boost leak, wot you should be 20 or better
for short bursts, those temps won't hurt a thing. Now if you were towing up a long grade, I would back off a bit, and down shift to bring those EGT's down. Definitely sounds like a boost leak with those low numbers
well, see here is were I run into the next problem. I really have know solid clue on what "stock" boost numbers are. I see someone post 12 max, then 15-17 is normal, then i see 20 all day and I even see 25 is normal. So with this whole situation I thought it was low boost, but may not be? I am still going to build a leak detector this weekend, but a solid number range would be awsome!!!
Stock boost under a good loaded pull should not really go about around 23psi. I would say 17psi is probably an accurate WOT run in stock form. 12 is too low.
15-17 empty is all your going to get for stock boost numbers. Tuned you should be in mid 20s at WOT any day empty. Check all your intercooler boots and see if you have any leaks throw a wrench on them to make sure they are still tight. Dont forget to check the two orange boots on the intake, there a pain to get to most of the time but check them anyways! If that doesnt net you mid 20s tuned make a boost leak detector. In my 80economy I make 27psi, thats just as a reference for you to look at at WOT empty too
Idle temp seems higher than mine also. My idle always goes down to 300 degrees. That is in neutral and may have to idle for a minute or two to get it down there if it just was running a load.

My 12psi max, is because i messed with the da%$ w/g actuator.... If time today, gonna tweek it some.
My stock Turbo w out chip can hit 20. W chip I have been up to 30 so I had to back the actuator off. Stay below 25 psi w a stock Turbo. New chip from gearhead I coming we will see what boost does then.
