It can be said he hit everything but the Pace Car....
days of thunder comes to mind..
Harry Hogge: All right. While we're still under a caution, I want you to go back out on that track and hit the pace car.
Cole Trickle: Hit the pace car?
Harry Hogge: Hit the pace car.
Cole Trickle: What for?
Harry Hogge: Because you've hit every other god------ thing out there, I want you to be perfect.
Better idea: rain tires. No more need for jet dryers........
Rain isn't a valid excuse for stopping/delaying a race. Fire, on the other hand....
If it were on a road coarse the could run in the rain. Daytona has 33 degrees of banking, they would slide right off.
The race was awesome, I was up untill 1:00 watching it. Chad Kanus received a 6 race suspension, 100,000 fine and Jimmie was docked 25 points for the c pillar deal.
If the speeds on rain tires have to be lower, then everyone would be in the same boat (pun intended).
Personally, I think the restrictor plates are dumb. Take away some downforce instead. They may hit 200+ on the straights, but they won't make the corners without slowing down........
There's a lot of things that have made me lose interest in nascar, one of which is the lack of right turns. 2 road courses a year is not enough to prevent teams from bringing in a "ringer", as has been done so often. Make 1/2 the races road courses, and you'll see a lot of new faces. Of course, that's exactly the opposite of what nascar really wants.......

I agree with you R_W. I want to see more Road Courses & taking the restrictor plates off @ 'Dega & Daytona because I want to see 205+ MPH a lap. Plus, I hate the many cautions they throw. I wouldn't mind seeing another caution free race. It has been years since I saw one.

They have been hitting near that in the draft. Stewart hit 206 last year in the 500. Yeah sometimes they throw a fake debris caution if the field gets to strung out for a while.
Reasons I can't stand that BS: To commercialized, Lost all its original roots, Commentators that NEVER SHUT UP, No excitement until a wreck, Change rules mid race, To many rules, More crap on the screen than any one person can read at once, Way over complicated, Fake cars, Toyota is now part of it, Not even close to "stock", Not to mention all the other reasons other people mentioned..... What happened to the days of dirt track, Moonshine running, Real stock, Real car racing? Oh wait, We have to over think it and commercialize it. Go figure.

Dirt track racin's awesome. NASCAR's actually working with the big three to get the cars back to some what what resembles what's in the show room. The 80's were awesome, I miss the days of chrome bumpers.

I don't think that is good enough. I'm talking about a record setting pace here. Letting them constantly stay above 205+ MPH whenever possible & bringing back the constant tandem drafting (I'm not a big fan of the pack racing [that spells trouble]).
I miss the old days of hoosier tires. A driver could run hard for many laps, till the tires started getting a bit too hot. Back off for a couple laps to cool 'em down, and go like stink again.
