390 swap

so im going to be putting my 390 in my 78 f250 4x4 soon and was wondering if there were any snags that i should prepare for ahead of time also id like to run a set of headers and i know they can be a pita on these trucks any help there also would be appreciated

I have read that you need 4x4 engine perches from a 300/6. I'm doing the same thing on my 79 but have not got that far yet to verify. The trans has be correct for 360/390 also.

Really? I didn't know that. I was going to swap my 300/6 for a 390. If these are the frame stands I need, that would make life MUCH easier! I guess now all I need is the bell housing and clutch.

I don't know about the 4x4, but the 2wd engine stands are the same for a 240/300 and 360/390, just have to be moved to a different set of holes in the frame. I know the stands are different 2wd vs 4wd, so the 300 and 360/390 *may* use different stands on a 4wd.
