New truck question

I just thought I would get a general concensus on a truck I am looking at buying. Its a 2007 F-250 CC Harley Davidson truck with FX-4 package. I have not seen the truck except in pictures and it looks very good. It dous have some small scuffs and scratches but nothing that probably wont buff out. It has 170,000 miles on it which doesnt worry me because it is a Diesel and it shows it has been worked. My question is the price. The dealer has it listed as 14,900 and this worries me as I have been looking for 2 months for this type and style of truck and average has been around 17-18000. Does this seem right? The car lot that has the truck as well as the local Ford dealer ensures me it has been gone over and everything works as advertised. I just hate to drive 500 miles to get the truck and something be very wrong ( injectors, head gaskets, ect...).
What do you guys think?

Like most of the guys on here will say, get an Oasis report. That will show you all the repairs done at a Ford dealership. Also, a Carfax report will show you the overall title status.

There are many things that can happen with this engine and the Oasis report will help you see what's been done.

Do I get that report through a Ford dealership?

Also both the Autocheck and carfax report everythings good. 1 owner, clear title, no wrecks.

Thanks in advance

Yes, you can get the Oasis report from the Ford dealership.

If you can get a scanner, such as Scangauge II, you can hook it up to the truck and see hard numbers and then come back here to research the numbers.

Don't let them have the truck warm and running for you. As you will find, lots of problems rear their head from a cold soak.

With a 170k your going to be looking at injectors very soon regardless. Also the trans are good up to 250k at least with regular maintiance. I've seen some trans last alot longer on theses trucks, but 250k is your min mark IMO.

Im still dealing with the problems! so just my 2 cents!

I have never heard of a wic oil filter cap. What is the difference between the two?

Also I got the oasis report amd everything seems like normal maintenance. Egrr valve and cooler replaced last year. Nothing real significant.

theres an 1in difference in hieght between the two caps. the proper one is about 1" in hieght as the wic's one is about 2" in height (not counting the threads ofc!) just a heads up thing to check for take my advice take the 2 seconds and look, is all im saying. GL

He might recognize a Wix oil filter cap sold by Napa.

Get something to check sensors with.

Like a Scangauge II, Edge CTS/CS, or even a Torque APP (if you have an android phone).

If you are going to go that far for a truck, might as well know as much about it as you can. Use it on every truck you look at. Cheap insurance.
