R4tech suspension

Just ordered up the R4tech suspension system for my truck. Hope its worth it. Was looking to get some replacement shocks and new airbags since I installed my gooseneck hitch. Saw some reviews on this and it looks promising.

Like the idea of the auto ride height and the more the bags fill the stiffer the shocks get. Hopefully this will allow the truck a soft ride when empty.

Wow, I don't know if I could bring myself to spend that kind of money, but please let us know how the install goes and your impression of the kit after you've driven on it.

Still waiting for all the parts to ship. It is a bit of cash but I was already looking at some airbags and new shocks. The alignment shop tells me that my *** end isn't square so I was probably going to have to take apart the rear end and replace the pins and prossibly the blocks.

Once you add up all that you get with the kit it seems more reasonable.

Airbags, shocks, new springs, track bar, compressor, tank, and auto level switch.

Will post more once I get it and start to do the install.

Hey Stemo76 How have you found the R4 suspension to be ?

I am starting to do some homework on different brands to see what will suit me.

Did it make the truck a bit rolly in the corners when it is softened without a load on ?

Look foward to your reply

I have received all the parts and am waiting for a weekend with no other chores and decent weather. Lots of parts to swap on and this is my driver right now. I plan on posting more here when I get a chance to install.

Probably won't be able to do it this weekend but maybe the next.

Well after 4 months of these parts sitting in my garage I finally had a point where I didn't need my truck for a little bit and enough driveway space to install it.

Install went pretty well, couple of bolts missing so I had them shipped to me. Only major complaint was that the lower support bracket is held into place by the ubolts and they didn't make the feet long enough to be properly captured by the Ubolts. Basically if you don't have everything in just perfect then the ubolts are too close to the end of the bracket and will smush the metal and slide off. I ended up wilding the ubolts to the brackets to keep them in place.

As for the ride its still a truck, but much improved. Before if I had a tire drive off a curb or the rear end went over a speed bump I felt airborn with a rough landing. Now its much softer and the tires seem to stay in contact with the ground.

the Kneel feature is great for unhooking from a trailer ball or gooseneck. Don't have to crank or wait for the electric motor to lift the trailer off the ball.

The auto level feature is really nice as well when hauling a heavy load. Keeps the truck level for better steering and headlights still hit the street.

I would say if you are looking for an automatic airbag kit or need new leafs it might be worth taking a look at but I don't know that its a must have product at this price.
